Shoden means “beginner teachings” in Japanese. The course will cover the foundations of Animal Reiki, including: the history of Reiki, the Reiki precepts, basic Reiki techniques, meditations that can be used in conjunction with Animal Reiki, and how Animal Reiki practice differs from “Human Reiki”. While prior Reiki training from other lineages (Usui, Karuna, etc.) is helpful, it is not a pre-requisite for this course. This program is based on the teachings of Kathleen Prasad, Animal Reiki Master, Animal Reiki Source. An official manual and certificate of achievement will be provided upon successful completion of each training level. ~ Namaste ~

I'm late in posting this on here, but those of you who follow Peaceful Paws on Facebook are already aware...I'm thrilled to be facilitating an Introduction to Animal Reiki Healing at this weekend's Spirit Seekers Conference here in Winnipeg at the Fort Garry Hotel. This will be my first formal training session to kick off the California based Animal Reiki Certification program I'm honored to bring back to Manitoba (Kathleen Prasad's course).
For those who are interested, come by and see me on Sunday afternoon - admission is $5 & individual workshops are $25. There will be a psychic fair with various readers (for an additional fee), vendors and the like. Should be a fun and informative weekend!

It's taken a little while to reflect on this post...mainly because I've been so completely and deeply impacted by my experience this summer as a student of Shinpiden/Animal Reiki Master training in California. It was an enlightening and truly amazing experience and my Animal Reiki mindset has been completely altered. Aside from the beautiful animal beings that I had the privilege to meet and learn from, I also had the pleasure and blessing of meeting some truly awesome and wonderful like-minded people. With that, I am thrilled to announce that I will be introducing Animal Reiki training here in Winnipeg, Manitoba this fall.

Wow, I can't believe it's been 8 months since my last post...time flies...way too quickly. Funny how adding health issues to the regular "busyness" of life can seem to make time pass even faster. Now that the health thing is in check (and totally rebounding in a positive way), time to get back into my life's true passions: energy work, animals and living with purpose.
I'm thrilled to pass on that my newest pursuits (and basically where the universe had lead me) include attending regular Restorative Yoga classes ('why' I haven't got into this sooner, I still don't know...sooooo essential for meditation and body, mind, and spirit balance) and additional training and education in Animal Reiki. I'm very excited to be adding Animal Reiki teachings/workshops to Peaceful Paws Animal Reiki Services in the near future...look for more information in summer 2014!!

This post is devoted to a truly wonderful and creative friend of mine, Shelley Penziwol.
Shelley is responsible for creating the beautiful display material for my exhibits. Initially, we started with smaller posters created for my display at the Darcy's ARC Dog's Breakfast event in 2011. More recently, we collaborated on the larger, formal coroplast display featured at my first large public exhibit - the local Body, Mind & Spirit Show here in Winnipeg.
Shelley is fabulously creative and skilled in various media - she's a published author, a web designer, a photography enthusiast, an editor, a graphics aficionado, a professional researcher, a communications expert, and most recently - a "house planner/builder".
I owe a debt of gratitude to her for all of her time, input, suggestion and creative efforts in support of my business ventures. Shelley, you are a true and valued friend. Thank you for everything!
